Introduction & Objectives: The aim ofthestudy was to evaluate parameters that helpscorrectly choose candidates for laterally directed sextantbiopsy scheme as first diagnostic for detection of the PCa. Material & Methods: 943 patients who underwent sextant laterally directed prostate biopsy at single institution since May 2007 to May 2008 were included into the study. The clinical parameters as PSA, PSA density, TPV, TZ volume, TZ index and age as well as pathological report wereanalyzed. Logistic regression, Chi square and Mann-Whitney tests were used for the analysis of prospectively collected data using SPSS 13.0 statistical analysis software for Windows.
