Abstract
Purpose: Investigate the safety and tolerability of intravenous lacosamide (LCM) as replacement for oral LCM in subjects with partial-onset seizures. Methods: 60 subjects enrolled from an open-label extension trial of oral LCM. Subjects were randomised 2:1 to iv LCM plus placebo (PBO) tablets twice daily (bid) or iv PBO plus LCM tablets bid, respectively, for 2 consecutive days. Subjects (n=30) in Cohort A received 60-minute infusions of trial medication; whereas, Cohort B (n=30) received 30-minute infusions. Safety data from Cohort A were reviewed before enrolment in Cohort B.[...].
