You are welcome to attend the international scientific conference “Addictive Behaviours as a Negative Lifestyle” organised by the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Department of Health Psychology at the Faculty of Public Health, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU).

Date: 2 December 2024
Location: Tilžės g. 18, Kaunas, Building No. 12, Room 109 / Online via MS Teams
Conference language: English

The conference will present an overview of current issues and trends in the use of illicit psychoactive substances, exploring potential solutions in prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and policy responses (U.S. perspective), alongside an assessment of the situation in Lithuania. Electronic cigarettes and new-generation psychoactive substances are presenting increasing public health challenges. Often portrayed in social contexts as a healthier alternative to traditional tobacco products, recent studies indicate that their long-term health effects may have more severe negative consequences. The conference will address the challenges posed by the use of vapes and disposable electronic cigarettes in social environments and their impact on health outcomes.
