Harvard Medical School Professor Ula Jurkunas Joins Lithuanian University of Health Sciences as Visiting Professor
Professor Ula Jurkunas, one of the world’s leading experts in ophthalmology, will serve as a visiting professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences for the next five years. Professor Jurkunas not only leads groundbreaking research in eye diseases but also inspires a new generation of medical specialists by sharing her knowledge and expertise.
Alongside her multiple scientific and clinical work, Professor Ula Jurkunas pioneered cultivated stem cell transplantation surgery in the United States and was the first to conduct clinical studies of autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in humans.
It is a great honour for us to collaborate with the first Lithuanian to have become a professor at the Harvard Medical School.
