Internship Opportunity in Japan

The International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) in Japan is inviting 5th year Medicine programme students to do an internship at IUHW Narita Hospital in 2026, in two time periods:

  • from the 24th of August to the 18th of September (9 students);
  • from the 28th of September to the 23rd of October (9 students).

Internship benefits include the opportunity to spend four weeks in Japan where you will attend lectures and participate in practical activities designed to help you develop a variety of professional skills in the medical field and gain valuable international experience. The selected candidates will receive accommodation at the university’s dormitory which will be funded by IUHW. Travel and return to/from Japan and other personal expenses are to be covered by the participant.

Only fifth-year medical students are eligible to apply.

MAIN SELECTION CRITERIA FOR STUDENTS:

  • academic performance of all study years at LSMU (lowest average is 8);
  • intermediate level of English proficiency (assessment of professional foreign language module, foreign language certificate B2 or higher level);
  • motivation and communication skills.

SELECTION PROCESS:

  1. Please fill out an ONLINE APPLICATION FORM until the 27th of March.

2. MOTIVATION INTERVIEW. Make a self-introduction video where you:

  • briefly introduce yourself;
  • express your motivation on why you would like to do an internship at IUHW;
  • explain how you will present LSMU abroad;
  • describe how involved you are in student and other activities of LSMU.

The video should be no longer than 3 minutes. 

Upload the video on your student‘s OneDrive, select Anyone in the Sharing permissions and send the link to viktorija.slivinskaite@lsmu.lt until the 27thof March.

The number of available places is 18.

We will inform all students of the selection results by email by the end of April.
