Browns Books Announces Changes to the VLeBooks eBook Platform

To ensure greater security and compatibility with modern devices and operating systems, the “VLeBooks” ebook platform is introducing a specially developed application called “VLeBooks App.”

Until now, downloading ebooks was only possible using Adobe Digital Editions. From now on, readers will also be able to download publications using the VLeBooks App. It is planned that the use of Adobe Digital Editions will be completely discontinued by the end of 2026.

Please note that this change only applies when ebooks are downloaded for offline reading. The VLeBooks online reader will continue to work as usual, so users will still be able to read publications directly in their web browser.

How to start using the VLeBooks App on your phone?

1. Download the app from Google Play or the App Store.
2. Log in to your account on www.vlebooks.com.
3. Open the My Account section.
4. Select the VLeBooks App tab.
5. Click Generate Access Code to generate an access code.
6. Open the VLeBooks App on your phone, select Continue with Access Code, and enter the code you received.

This will link your VLeBooks account to the specific device and app.

If you are already using the VLeBooks App

1. Find the e-book you want on the VLeBooks platform.
2. Select Download and choose VLeBooks App.
3. Open the VLeBooks App on your phone.
4. The selected ebook will appear under My Loans.
5. Press Download to make the publication available for offline reading.
