LSMU among the Country’s Top Universities under the Prestigious THE WUR Ranking
The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) has once again secured one of Lithuania’s top spots in the latest prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 (THE WUR).
This year, LSMU has once more been listed among the world’s top 801 to 1000 universities. It shares the top position in Lithuania solely with Vilnius University.
Times Higher Education (THE WUR) is one of the three most prestigious international university rankings worldwide. It focuses on the quality of education and research and the global impact of the scientific activities. It also looks at the international outlook of the universities and the income they generate from manufacturing or business.
LSMU is a leader among other universities in Lithuania in the categories of Teaching (27.1 points) and Research Quality (55.5 points).
“Over the past three years, we’ve seen a steady rise in most objective metrics, which confirms the consistent excellence of the teaching and research activities at our university,” said Prof. Kęstutis Petrikonis, LSMU Vice-Rector for Studies.
On the other hand, the reputation of a higher education institution often depends on its partners, a rather subjective measure. If it weren’t for this, we might well have achieved an even higher position,” he added.
This is not the first time that the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences has placed high in international rankings. Representatives of LSMU view such an international breakthrough as a recognition of the University’s high quality.
