International Summer Scientific Practice

Lithuanian University of Health sciences (LSMU) announces International Summer Scientific Practice 2025. 

We offer a unique 1-2 months opportunity to engage in various scientific research topics listed at the bottom of the announcement. 

Participation in scientific practice is free of charge. 

What is not included: travel, accommodation, and living expenses to be covered by trainee. 

If you are curious, motivated third-year or higher student in health sciences and want to train your critical, scientific, systemic and entrepreneurial thinking – please register here by April 15, 2025.

  • Certificate of enrollment in health science studies program at your university (including university name, study program, and current study year); 
  • Transcript showing average grades in modules or subjects at your university; 
  • Letter of Recommendation from your local scientific supervisor; 
  • Curriculum vitae (CV); 
  • Passport or ID card.

The student will focus on how genetic predispositions and personality traits affect the development and severity of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD). The student‘s tasks include reviewing relevant literature, analyzing collected data from volunteers, DNA extraction from saliva samples, SNPs genotyping using TaqMan chemistry, genotyping data analysis, statistical analysis to identify correlations. „Investigation of the molecular mechanisms of bioactive plant extracts on brain cell cultures“ During the study, the effects of bioactive plant extracts on primary and/or cell lines will be assessed by analyzing cell viability, changes in cell numbers, proliferation, and potential cell activation.
