On October 7–8, 2026, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences will host the annual meeting of the Baltic Society for Extracellular Vesicles, titled “Translational EV Research: Advances and Challenges.” The event will bring together researchers, clinicians, biotechnology professionals, and students from across Europe to discuss the latest advances in extracellular vesicle research and their applications in diagnostics and therapeutics.
The conference will feature presentations by internationally recognized experts, including Antje Maria Zickler (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden), Marcin Jurga (EXO Biologics, Belgium), Tomás Dias (Mursla Bio, United Kingdom), and Alireza Fazeli (Estonian University of Life Sciences, Estonia). The scientific program will also include oral and poster presentations, sessions for early-career researchers, and discussions on emerging directions in extracellular vesicle research.
On October 6, the day before the conference, participants are invited to attend a pre-conference workshop focused on extracellular vesicle research methodologies. The workshop will offer an opportunity to explore current approaches to vesicle isolation, characterization, and analysis; discuss their applications in biomedical research; and gain practical insights from experts in the field.
The conference aims not only to foster scientific exchange but also to strengthen the growing extracellular vesicle research community. Alongside the scientific program, participants will have opportunities to network and engage in informal discussions, including a unique virtual reality experience showcasing the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, one of Lithuania’s most celebrated cultural figures.
We warmly invite researchers, clinicians, students, and professionals interested in extracellular vesicle research to join us in Kaunas and become part of the growing international extracellular vesicle community.
