Join us for the solemn session of the Senate of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) marking the beginning of the new academic year.
The event will take place on 1 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Nepriklausomybės Square, Kaunas. The celebration of the beginning of the academic year is a special day for the University community, combining the tradition of welcoming a new academic year with the induction of new students into the LSMU community.
PROGRAMME:
10:00 a.m. Procession of the University community from Nepriklausomybės Square to Kaunas City Municipality and back to Nepriklausomybės Square.
10:45 a.m. Welcome addresses (Nepriklausomybės Square).
10:55 a.m. Fair showcasing a range of LSMU activities for participants.
12:00 noon Holy Mass for the academic community at the Kaunas Arch-Cathedral Basilica of St Apostles Peter and Paul (1 Vilniaus St).
CELEBRATION OF THE START OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR WILL CONTINUE AT THE FACULTIES:
At 3:00 p.m., first-year students are invited to meetings at their respective faculties, where they will be welcomed by faculty representatives. Each student will have the opportunity to collect their first-year student package.
Starting at 4:00 p.m., first-year student curators will also join the meetings. They will share their experiences of studying and student life at LSMU, introduce various activities and opportunities available at the University, and answer any questions that may arise during the first days of studies.
