New database: Osmosis!
The community of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (both students and educators) can now access the remote learning platform Osmosis provided by Elsevier.
It is an all-in-one online medical study platform designed to help both teachers and students learn and prepare for exams. Osmosis offers a wide range of resources, including video lectures, practice questions, flashcards, and study tools covering various medical topics such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and other medical fields.
The platform utilizes multimedia content to engage users in active learning, aiming to improve their understanding of complex medical concepts. Osmosis platform is linked to various lessons and assessment tasks, simplifying complex medical studies. Osmosis also provides personalized study plans and analysis to track progress and identify areas for improvement. This platform can be used for both self-study and teaching.
The Osmosis platform consists of a large and comprehensive library of videos and images:
- Over 1200 illustrated summaries covering clinically important studies of physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
- Over 1800 animated videos covering all areas of medical studies
- Over 2700 knowledge-checking questions with detailed explanations of answers
- Over 100,000 images that can be used during studies or in preparing presentations
