JA PRISM aims to reduce the burden of mental ill health with a specific focus on vulnerable groups through promoting good mental health, preventing mental health problems and improving access to treatment and services across EU Member States and Associated countries. The project supports the transfer and roll-out of best and promising practices using a human rights-based approach. Three evidence-based practices are implemented: suicide prevention (BIZI programme), addressing loneliness in elderly (Circle of Friends) and fostering emotional wellbeing in children and young people (Act, Belong, Commit). The project includes 7 work packages covering coordination, communication, evaluation, sustainability and technical implementation activities across 61 implementation sites.
The main results of the project:
Increased awareness and knowledge of human rights-based mental health approaches; strengthened empowerment and quality of life of vulnerable groups; improved prevention-oriented public health systems and mental health policy frameworks across participating countries.
