On 20 May, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) held an event for the first time at the Emmanuel Levinas Centre to honour the organisations that had been granted the status of University Friend Supporter and Supporter.

“Any support for the University is greatly appreciated,” LSMU Rector Professor Rimantas Benetis told the supporters.

Heads and representatives of LSMU units also expressed their sincere gratitude for the support provided to the University, science, health development and progress.

UAB Nemuno vaistinė was granted the status of University Friend Supporter for its support in 2024 for the development of the LSMU pharmacy study infrastructure and the installation of an educational pharmacy.

Supporter status was granted to UAB Profarma Global for its donation of disposable medical supplies to the Large Animal Clinic and Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the LSMU Veterinary Academy, and to company Linet for its support in strengthening the quality of nursing studies and practical training.

UAB Diagnostinės sistemos was granted the status of University Friend Supporter for its support in 2025 for a research study at the Molecular Cardiology Laboratory of the LSMU Institute of Cardiology.

Supporter status was granted to the public institution Nacionalinė krepšinio akademija for its donation of sports equipment to the LSMU Sports Centre, and to UAB Bonameda and UAB Puikios drapanos for their support for Dr Leonas Kriaučeliūnas Small Animal Clinic, intended for teaching and learning purposes and for strengthening research activities.

On behalf of the University, sincere gratitude was extended to the representatives of the supporting organisations: Kristina Veštortienė, General Manager of UAB Nemuno vaistinė, and Laura Šerpytytė, Head of Human Resources; Nerijus Juozaitis, Deputy CEO of UAB Profarma Global; Lucie Sionová (Řehořová), Clinical Data Specialist at Linet; Julius Ptašeka, CEO of UAB Diagnostinės sistemos; Audronis Jančiauskas, Director of the public institution Nacionalinė krepšinio akademija; Paulius Vilemas, Chair of the Board of UAB Bonameda; and Dainius Vaitiekūnas, CEO of UAB Puikios drapanos.

A new tradition is gradually taking shape at University events: publicly thanking and honouring organisations that contribute by providing support. This is helping to foster a new culture in which partnership and support are visible and meaningful.

At the beginning of the year, during the solemn joint meeting of the LSMU Council and Senate dedicated to 16 February, Lithuania’s Day of Restoration of Statehood, the University thanked the organisations that had been granted the status of Gold and Silver Supporters of the University. For its significant contribution to the development of the University’s activities, the strengthening of study and research initiatives, and support for the University community, UAB Avon Cosmetics was granted Silver Supporter status for 2024, while UAB Gaivilė and UAB Skirgesa were granted Gold Supporter status for 2025.

At the end of June, during the solemn joint meeting of the LSMU Council and Senate dedicated to the diploma award ceremony, thanks will be extended to the University’s General Supporter.

Support from sponsors is highly significant for the University and is greatly appreciated. Partnership with socially responsible organisations enables the University to strengthen research initiatives and create an innovative environment for the academic community. Every contribution that helps the University grow and implement meaningful change is valued.
