The Department of Preventive and Paediatric Dentistry offers a 3-year paediatric dentistry residency programme and a doctoral programme. During their postgraduate studies, residents develop competencies in paediatric dentistry, treating a large number of patients up to the age of 18.
The research topic of the clinical department is the analysis of the aetiopathogenesis, epidemiology, and methods of prophylaxis or treatment of dental caries and periodontal diseases in children and adults, headed by Prof. Julija Narbutaitė.
Our scientific research focuses on the epidemiology, aetiology, prevention, and minimally invasive treatment of dental caries in children and young people. The staff of the Department cooperates with researchers from other departments as well as foreign researchers.
