Background: The research will be conducted in a German laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Laura Manelytė from the University of Regensburg. The laboratory has the necessary expertise to carry out detailed studies and explain the hypothesis about how drugs work, depending on the activity of endogenous retroviruses. Our goal is to learn methods that are not currently available in Kaunas. We plan to study the effect of the chromatin remodelling protein SMARCAD1 on the expression of HERV (Human Endogenous Retrovirus).
The expected outcome of the project: To learn new methodologies and share knowledge upon returning to Lithuania.
