ZOONOSIS CENTRE
Launched in 2023, the LSMU Zoonosis Centre brings together the University’s microbiologists, virologists, medical practitioners and veterinarians, and public health and other university staff to conduct research on zoonotic diseases, as part of the “One Health” concept.
The Centre’s researchers investigate the epidemiological, genomic, and clinical aspects of various zoonotic agents (tick-borne encephalitis, hepatitis E, SARS-CoV-2 viruses, Campylobacter, E. coli, etc.).

- To coordinate research on zoonoses at the University’s departments
- To disseminate the research findings
- To pursue expert activities and provide advice
- To develop the guidelines for the control and prevention of zoonoses
- To promote cooperation with national and international institutions in this field
