EdU_Saliva aims to create an open-access multilingual digital educational resource on saliva as a non-invasive biosample. This resource will include an e-textbook, a practice workbook, a video library and self-assessment activities. Its purpose is to promote the inclusion of this topic in the curricula of various disciplines in European Higher Education Institutions (EHEIs) aiming to bridge the gap between labor market demand and EHEI graduates’ knowledge and skills in saliva bioscience. The EdU_Saliva project is organised into five working packages (WP) and 46 activities. The WP1 is for project management. The WPs 2-4 involve activities directly related to material development and its quality evaluation. At all moments, the „Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area”, will be followed. The objective of WP5 is to communicate the EdU_Saliva results to target groups, potential stakeholders and the general public.

The main outcome will be a new EDUCATIONAL SPACE focused on SALIVA SCIENCE composed of an e-textbook, a practice workbook, a video library and self-assessment activities. These materials will facilitate the creation of new interdisciplinary virtual courses, promote inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration between experts and educators*, and encourage knowledge exchange on a global scale.

*The term “educator” refers to all types of teaching staff (including teaching support staff) of EHEIs.
